YaYa Yoga
Oh hey, savvy Senior, I have news for you!
Have you ever felt curious about yoga, but perhaps felt too old to start, too curvy, or too under-represented because data shows most yoga participants are 25-34 years old? Yep, me, too.
Honestly, I kinda didn’t feel comfortable in many commercial yoga settings, so I set out to create a safe space to lead yoga and build a community where 55 and older women of all shapes and sizes can gather to improve their relationship with their body for a real sense of integration and wholeness over time.
Why YaYa Yoga? Funny story. If you’ve checked out the About Me page you know I’m a mama of 7. I’ve taken that next level over the last few years as some of the older kids have married and had kids of their own. Wouldn’t Lolli and Pop be cute names for us as grandparents, we thought? Well, as things go, the littles had trouble with the l’s in Lolli and started calling me YaYa. As for Pop, they accidentally called him the pope, lol. We corrected that one right away! As for YaYa…it stuck. So Yogi YaYa it is and YaYa Yoga was born. It’s fun, it’s playful and kinda has a ring to it, amiright?
